I am very much aware that it’s been four months since I’ve posted any updates. Call me naive, but when this journey began I had no idea just how crazy things would become. For a while, I thought I could actually keep up. I kept my laptop with me everywhere and would try to update whenever possible, in between the appointments, shoots, school, sports and general chaos. On days when I thought I’d have time to write, something would inevitably pop up and take precedence. My entries were sometimes being written two to four weeks after the fact. I found it difficult to share our experiences in words without oversharing or overstepping boundaries. I found myself self-censoring and over-editing.
So here I sit – on one of only a handful of days with time to write. Isabella is at an all day birthday party for a friend and Anissa is off at a movie with Jonathan.
*I’ve decided to take some of the pressure off by posting using less words and instead, more photos. I will post when I can. I will post when appropriate.
So, here it goes. 4 months in photos.
Golf in the desert, Father-Daughter time at Joshua tree, chemo treatments, homework on rainy days, UCLA, breakfast with Anissa, and oh…right…a broken clavicle, scapula and ribs.
Write your story here. (Optional)
Birthday/Valentine’s Day in Rancho Mirage, Chemotherapy, baseball season, shoulder surgery and the FINAL chemo treatment.
Rain, Family day (playing hooky), 13 year anniversary, and more baseball.
Easter in the desert. The start of radiation.
